Effect of Vortex Generators on Exhaust Plume Trajectory

I carried out this CFD test to help me understand better the effect of vortex generators (VGs) on the trajectory of the exhaust plume.

This first test was carried out without any VGs:

The second test was carried out with one VG. You can see how the exhaust plume was deflected towards the tire.

The third test was carried out with 2 VGs. The deflection this time was minor, but was made apparent because it was pushed towards the tire and the 'dirty' air behind it which messes up the flow of the exhaust plume.

  1. Great work!

In the second pic you can see the flow from the VG but not in the third pic.Is there a way to see the flows from the two VGs in the third pic?

In the first pic the flow curves towards the tires near the diffuser.Could you please explain it?

    Thank you.
